Berry Smoothie

11 May

I have been on a slight health kick lately but not to the point of cutting out sugar or butter because that just would be ridiculous.  I have though, started to eat more veggies and fruits which results in a higher grocery bill. M and I went to the grocery store the other day to do a little experiment.  I filled my basket with fresh produce while M got the processed and canned goods; there were the exact same number of items in each basket.  When we checked out, my bill was fifty dollars and M’s was 30 dollars.  I couldn’t believe the difference; eating healthy is much more costly.  Anyway, moving on, I made a smoothie this morning with raspberries, blueberries, orange juice and Greek yogurt. I didn’t add any sweetener to it because I like the tartness, but a little sweetness is never a bad thing so sweeten away.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 cups of orange juice
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 2 ice cubes

Directions

Pour the orange juice and the greek yogurt into a blender. Add the fruit and the ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!
